County of Marin - Facilities Capital Projects Division Manager
The County of Marin seeks an experienced, motivated leader to manage the Facilities Capital Projects Division. This position oversees a major division within the Public Works Department with management responsibilities over facilities capital improvement planning and programming, project development, and preparation and oversight of the division’s operating and capital budgets. The Facilities Capital Projects Division is comprised of 10 accomplished project managers, architects, and support staff that develop a wide variety of projects from the planning phase through design, permitting, and construction. The Facilities Capital Projects Division Manager must possess knowledge of vertical building project delivery processes from entitlements to commissioning with the ability to anticipate problems, implement solutions, and ensure the completion of projects on time and within budget. California municipal government experience is highly desired, as is working knowledge of building codes and the Public Contracting Code, including alternative project delivery methods. The Department of Public Works offers two Facilities Capital Project Division Manager classifications: Facilities Planning and Development Manager.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills listed. Typically, equivalent to a 4-year college degree with a major in Architecture, Engineering, Finance, Business or Public Administration, or a related field and five years of full-time experience performing planning, feasibility analysis, financing, and overall project management for pre-construction planning and design projects involving buildings and public projects. Additional professional development in real estate finance, acquisition and development is highly desirable. [Annual salary of $165,089 to $183,019.] This salary shown does not reflect a 4% cost of living adjustment effective July 2026.
Principal Civil Engineer
Five years of increasingly responsible professional engineering experience, with at least two years of the required experience functioning in a supervisory capacity. Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers is required. [Annual salary of $166,316 to $202,196.] This salary shown does not reflect the 2% received for a Professional License and a 4% cost of living adjustment effective July 2026.

Mackenzie - Structural Project Engineer II

We are looking for a highly talented structural engineering lead (PE required) with 6-14 years of structural engineering experience for our Sacramento office. This full-time position is available to qualified applicants who excel in a dynamic working environment and are self-motivated. This position would entail leading a team of entry level engineers and coordinating closely with department leadership on strategic vision. The ideal candidate excels in coordination with other disciplines, possess strong design technical skills, and has the ability to manage their own work efforts along with those of their discipline team.

Key Responsibilities:
*Lead and develop structural projects from conceptual planning through design documents and construction.
*Collaborate with Architects, Interior Designers, Civil Engineers, Landscape Architects, and MEP consultant teams on projects.
*Perform structural gravity and lateral calculations on a wide variety of projects.
*Plan, organize, coordinate, and lead the structural design team.

Qualifications:
*Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
*Masters degree in Engineering preferred.
*6 to 10 years of structural experience with relevant project types.
*A Professional Engineering (PE) license

*Working knowledge of codes (ASCE 7, ASCE 41, ACI, AISC, etc.)
*Ability to coordinate and assemble entire set of construction documents on small to medium projects.
*Ability to work independently on projects through design development, construction documents, and construction contract administration phases.
*Candidates with experience with steel and interested in working on projects focused on manufacturing and semiconductor projects is a plus.
*Experience with creating and maintaining project specifications.
*Previous management of a team is a plus but not required.

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
The County of El Dorado, Department of Transportation is responsible for funding, designing, building, operating, and maintaining the County Road System. El Dorado County’s Road System currently consists of approximately 1083 centerline miles of paved roadway, 76 bridges, a multitude of storm drainage systems, and related transportation facilities. ENGINEERING DIVISION The Engineering Division provides planning, design, and construction management services within the unincorporated area of El Dorado County. Responsibilities of the Division includes: delivering capital projects from initial planning phases through design and construction and post-construction environmental monitoring.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Use your knowledge and experience performing a variety of difficult to complex technical and professional civil engineering duties in the field and in the office; providing project coordination, direction, and review for other staff.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to:
Perform professional engineering work in areas such as design, construction, land development, transportation, traffic planning, surveying, mapping, solid waste and landfill operations, stormwater control, and flood control engineering.
Prepare, analyze, review, and interpret work documents, engineering plans, specifications, reports, and special projects.
Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, project schedules, and resource requirements.
Review and comment on environmental impact reports and traffic studies.
Review encroachment permit applications, issue permits, and inspect utility work for compliance.
Administer and inspect capital improvement projects, including roadways and bridges.
Participate in predevelopment reviews, develop conditions of approval, and provide plan check services for compliance with standards.
Process lot line adjustments, right-of-way abandonments, easements, and grant deed dedications.
Prepare and provide detailed engineering reports, correspondence, staff reports, ordinances, and resolutions.
Coordinate capital improvement projects with contractors, utility companies, and other agencies.
Conduct field inspections and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Develop and maintain geographic information systems and coordinate stormwater and groundwater monitoring.
Generate technical reports, identify, interpret, and analyze technical data.
Engage with organizational and community groups, respond to inquiries, and investigate complaints regarding engineering issues. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with various stakeholders, including the public, contractors, consultants, and internal staff.
Additional Duties for Associate Civil Engineer:
Oversee a broad range of engineering activities for public works projects, including transportation planning, traffic engineering, and real property.
Lead the administration and inspection of construction contracts.
Monitor approved project budgets and ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of design plans and specifications.
Provide recommendations for project approvals, development agreements, and conditions.
Act in a non-supervisorial, “lead worker” capacity when overseeing technical job functions.
Prepare detailed reports and present findings to the Chief Administrative Office, Board of Supervisors, and other key stakeholders.
